Regional Supervisor - Maternal Fetal Medicine

Full Time - Days
• The Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Supervisor will coordinate services and activities specific to the MFM Ultrasound Department. • The MFM Supervisor monitors all technical and clerical functions, which include efficient patient throughput and effective utilization of equipment and human resources, based upon patient load. • Maintains Performance Improvement and Quality Control activities. • Follows all established Ultrasound and hospital policies and procedures. • The MFM Supervisor follows standards set forth by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) and International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG). • Demonstrates anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. • The MFM Supervisor demonstrates knowledge of the human structure and functions, also principles of sound wave energy. • Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary of medical ethics. Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction. • Maintains knowledge of equipment and instruments/supplies pertinent to high quality exams. • Provides effective internal and external patient communication consistent with age and mental capacity. • Some travel between sites expected.
• Leads and oversees the MFM Ultrasound Department to ensure the quality of work. On an on-going basis, monitors the job performance of each direct report. • Ensures procedures and job related activities are performed according to all technological standards. • Conducts orientation of new employees according to Orientation Checklist and Job Description. • Teaches and trains staff (MFM, Radiology-OB, and OB ultrasound staff), recognizes when others are in need of assistance. • Initiates coaching effectively by enlisting improvement in a positive manner, orally or writing. • Participates in formal training programs and in-services. • Some travel between sites is expected.
