Performs diagnostic ultrasound in a Cardiovascular Department. A Level 2 (Primary Echocardiographer) sonographer must specialize in echocardiography. The Cardiovascular Career Ladder will be utilized to establish competency and placement within the CV Career Ladder process. The primary role is in the echocardiography laboratory and employee will be required to perform transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echo. Skills in vascular testing or echocardiography beyond these core competencies will be evaluated and awarded in accordance with the departmental skill based career ladder. The posistion may require after hours and rotating call responsabilities. This position may occasionally have to cover another facility when the need arises.
Education: High School Graduate, Graduate from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program or related allied health degree. Extensive experience may substitute training.
