ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY TECHNICIAN I Presence Resurrection Medical Center - Chicago
The Echocardiography Technician I is responsible for performing all types of echocardiographic procedures including 2D/Mode, Doppler, Stress Echo, Holter monitoring, etc. in accordance with established Presence Health guidelines and protocols.
Educates patients and family in the purpose, process, and type of test being administered.
Evaluates patient prior to performing tests by reviewing patient medical history; noting past/present illnesses, diagnosis, and medication; checking patient's chart to confirm physician's orders and noting current medication, allergies, etc.
Performs ultrasound venous and arterial peripheral vascular imaging studies and records data on videotape.
Performs venous Doppler and impedance plethysmography and arterial limb pressures, volume pressure recordings and measurements.
Identifies basic dysrhythmias, EKG changes, basic pathology on ECHO and other test results on a preliminary basis to determine need for immediate interpretation by physician or if additional vascular testing is needed.

High School diploma or equivalent required
Training from college course or accredited program preferred
One year of experience in cardiology and/or ultrasound technology preferred
Knowledge of word processing software. Meditech experience preferred
