Formed in 2009, the SDMS Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization affiliated with the SDMS. The SDMS Foundation fosters professional learning and excellence by working to improve the field of diagnostic medical sonography.
Job Summary: Job duties include completing Ultrasound procedures on inpatients and outpatients with a focus on high quality outcomes, outstanding customer service and patient safety.
Essential Job Duties: 1.Completes ultrasound procedures following departmental protocols 2.Confidently explains ultrasound procedures to customers 3.Accurately and consistently completes required ultrasound paperwork 4.Assists the Front Office staff in insuring orders for ultrasound procedures are appropriate 5.Maintains current standards of practice through review of current literature, including information on best practice 6.Performs daily, monthly, quarterly quality control as appropriate 7.Communicates examination outcomes to Radiologists appropriately or to Cardiologists on the appropriate cases 8.Oversight of inventory (medical supplies and other supplies) 9.Participates in quality management oversight and data acquisition 10.Bring issues and potential solutions to the attention of the Manager of Imaging Services 11.Demonstrates outstanding professional behaviors 12.Maintains processor operation 13.Completes assigned ultrasound duties per room assignment 14.Attends departmental meetings with the Manager of Imaging Services and the Medical Director of Imaging Services as requested
Educational, Skills, Experience Requirements: Completed education in Ultrasonography, Registered Ultrasonographer (or willing to become registered within 1 year of employment)
Additional Salary Information: Salary is based on experience, certifications etc.
