Facility Profile: Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,107-bed AdventHealth Orlando, serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America. AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country. Department Profile: Our AdventHealth Orlando – Cardiovascular Ultrasound Department is highly engaged, diversified, professional and on the cutting edge of the cardiovascular ultrasound field. There are many opportunities to learn and grow as part of this team. In addition to general cardiac ultrasound there are specialties such as structural heart including TAVRs, Mitral Clips and Watchman, Cardiac OR support, a full service Pediatric Program that spans fetal – adult congenital and there are a variety of ground breaking research projects that the department is involved. The cardiovascular staff are trained in Strain and 3D, both valuable modalities routinely performed in the early detection and monitoring of significant cardiac conditions to improve patient outcomes. Vascular ultrasound, physiological procedures and transcranial dopplers are at the core of the vascular services that are provided. The department is staffed 24 / 7 with no call. In 2018 the CVUS department performed over 35,000 procedures. The team consistently collaborates with Physicians and other departments to improve and save lives every day. Work Hours/Shifts: Varies Job Summary: The Cardiovascular Ultrasound CVUS Sonographer II independently performs all ultrasound exams per his/her registries. The cardiovascular ultrasound procedures may be performed on patients that range from neonate through gerontology age. The CVUS sonographer takes ownership of the department and work areas as well as assists physicians and hospital staff when necessary. The CVUS Sonographer also participates in the AdventHealth performance improvement program and performs additional duties as requested.
