SDMS's core purpose is to enhance the art and science of medicine by advancing medical sonography. As an SDMS member you will join an exclusive network of over 28,000 sonographers and sonography students.
Formed in 2009, the SDMS Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization affiliated with the SDMS. The SDMS Foundation fosters professional learning and excellence by working to improve the field of diagnostic medical sonography.
The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) is responsible for the education and training of Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound (CEUS) customers through clinical presentations, product evaluations, ongoing clinical support and consultative interactions as may be required. MSL manages clinical relationships with health care professionals and maintains core relationships as defined in this document.
Essential Activities, Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:
Provides scientific and medical information; in-service education and training; and technical support for health care professionals in the clinical use of Lumason.
Provides timely and accurate customer responses in accordance with relevant processes.
Coordinates site visit deployment with manager and submits complete details for site visits in advance for entry in the GM&RA database. MSL updates the database as required.
Prepares a detailed report for each customer site visit and submits to manager.
Recognizes adverse events reports and submits reports to Drug Safety within 24 hours of first notification of the report in accordance with relevant SOPs.
Recognizes product quality complaint reports and submits reports to Professional Services within 24 hours of first notification of the report in accordance with relevant SOPs.
Networks with KOL’s, professional societies and ultrasound industry to further develop knowledge and expertise in CEUS.
Adheres to GM&RA SOPs and policies, the Bracco Guiding Principles and company values
Industry experience includes a minimum of at least five years in either/or:
Ultrasound certification and/or education required (Certified CVIS and Sonographer (Cardiac, Radiology or equivalent)
MSL experience and leadership in CEUS or cardiac/radiology ultrasound equipment.
Cardiac sonographer/nursing position with CEUS experience in a hospital or cardiovascular imaging center.
A minimum of two years successful sales experience on BDI CEUS team. (Or equivalent for an external candidate)
Education: A verifiable BA/BS degree is highly desired
Professional knowledge (Core Competencies focused on technical skills):
Exceptional working knowledge of echocardiography, CEUS, ultrasound equipment and clinical applications
Subject matter expert on CEUS clinical and scientific data, publications and guidelines
Effectively facilitate customer product evaluations and follow-up as needed
Ability to coordinate and prioritize customer visits effectively and efficiently
Deliver clear, concise and relevant verbal and written information and presentations to internal and external audiences
Committed to routine use of software/applications for communicating, planning and reporting, including site visits, travel and entertainment expense reporting.
Proactively identify and escalate issues/concerns to manager in a timely manner
Support and act on constructive feedback, ideas and recommendations for improvement
