Formed in 2009, the SDMS Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization affiliated with the SDMS. The SDMS Foundation fosters professional learning and excellence by working to improve the field of diagnostic medical sonography.
Vascular Technologist will balance patient interaction and technological performance with a firm knowledge of anatomy and pathology, working cohesively with a healthcare team. Main focus will be to perform non-invasive vascular sonograms to evaluate for vascular disease or disorders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide Quality Patient Care.
Obtain and record accurate patient history.
Perform vascular sonograms adhering to existing protocols.
Obtain diagnostic images and use independent judgment in recognizing the need to extend the scope of the procedure according to the diagnostic findings.
Explain the ultrasound procedure to patients and answer any questions they may have.
Maintain ultrasound equipment and clean the room in which the procedure takes place.
Present images and preliminary findings to physicians and the healthcare team.
Maintain patient records and add medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure.
Capable of lifting 50 pounds or less and standing for long periods of time.
Required travel to various CVM locations (Labs) throughout Maryland and Northern Virginia
