Formed in 2009, the SDMS Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization affiliated with the SDMS. The SDMS Foundation fosters professional learning and excellence by working to improve the field of diagnostic medical sonography.
Abrazo Central Campus (located at 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road in Phoenix), a 221-bed acute care facility and teaching hospital, has been providing quality care to patients in the Phoenix community for more than 50 years. Produces quality ultrasound examinations which are used in medical diagnosis and interpreted by Radiologists/Physician and may include: abdominal, pelvic, OB/GYN, Vascular, Cardiac, small parts and interventional ultrasound procedures. Functional supervision may be exercised over cross-training technologists and/or students.
Special Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to understand oral and written instructions stated in radiological and medical terms and to exchange information with patients and staff. Proficient with general operating procedures, i.e. start up procedures, calibration of equipment,
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of formal ultrasound technology training which meets requirements for certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Minimum 0 - 6 months experience. American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or CCI certified (if required by hiring facility per CMS guidelines); Basic Life Support Certification. Maintains required CEU's to retain Registry
Preferred Qualifications: Two years experience.
