SDMS's core purpose is to enhance the art and science of medicine by advancing medical sonography. As an SDMS member you will join an exclusive network of over 28,000 sonographers and sonography students.
Formed in 2009, the SDMS Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization affiliated with the SDMS. The SDMS Foundation fosters professional learning and excellence by working to improve the field of diagnostic medical sonography.
Performs routine and advanced mammography procedures within the scope defined by regulatory and departmental standards. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.
Experience required in Mammography and related testing and Quality Control in Mammography. Current valid certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), for radiography and mammography and holds a valid New Jersey State licensure. Is compliant in maintaining current continuing education credits as required by the FDA/ MQSA and ACR. BLS required.
Work Environment and Hazards
Well-lighted, well-ventilated areas. Patient care areas. Uniforms as required by department. Can be physically and emotionally demanding.

Patient and family members. Physicians and physician office staff, co-workers, supervisors, interdepartmental workers, physiciansPerforms routine and diagnostic mammography, breast biopsies preferred, but not required for Per diem. DEXA procedures and general x-rays as required. Knowledge of QC for all mammography equipment. May be required to work at a JWBC satellite office.-Current valid certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and Mammography certified. Holds a valid New Jersey State license. Is compliant in maintaining current continuing education credits as required by the FDA/ MQSA and ACR. Current BLS required. -Demonstrates compassion and empathy towards patients.
