SDMS's core purpose is to enhance the art and science of medicine by advancing medical sonography. As an SDMS member you will join an exclusive network of over 28,000 sonographers and sonography students.
Formed in 2009, the SDMS Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization affiliated with the SDMS. The SDMS Foundation fosters professional learning and excellence by working to improve the field of diagnostic medical sonography.
Under minimal supervision, performs basic diagnostic ultrasound procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. Exercises professional judgment in providing health care services, to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients. May be multi-credentialed in the area of sonography. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Produces high quality diagnostic sonographs as prescribed by a licensed practitioner
Assists with amnio procedure biopsies
Processes and files films as needed
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Sonography Preferred: Associates degree
Preferred: 2 or more years acute care setting
1. RDMS in one or more of the following: Abdomen and or OB.
2. Vascular licensure from one of the following licensing bodies RDMS or ARRT
3. Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
Per Diem Variable includes all schedules and weekend hours
