Sr. Ultrasound Technologist - Pediatric Heart Surgery
Salary Range: $50.78 to $65.70 Hourly

The Sr. Ultrasound Technologist supports the pediatric heart surgery program by assisting the pediatric cardiologist with transesophageal ultrasound exams intraoperatively; supporting the perinatologists by performing fetal cardiac exams; educating patients and their parents; and providing detailed written preliminary reports and assisting in billing.
Experience operating ultrasound equipment to produce a high quality examinations.
Must have experience with fetal cardiac embryology, congenital heart defects, cardiac hemodynamics and Palliative and/or corrective congenital heart surgical procedures.
Experience with cardiac auscultation, EKG, and chest x-ray findings,
Experience assisting in the assessment of cardiac ultrasound exams.
Experience providing detailed, concise, written and/or oral information regarding a patient's cardiac anatomy and hemodynamic status.
Skills to instruct, train and educate health care providers in the assessment of congenital heart disease.
Skills to organize workload and produce a sufficient volume of work in a timely manner.
Skills to work cooperate, and communicate effectively with health care providers, patients, and the public.
Ability to work under pressure and make accurate decisions.
Ability to present a Professional Manner in dress and comportment.
Works in all aspects of the hospital environment from intensive care units, operating rooms, cath labs and specialty clinics. Is responsible for safety moving ultrasound throughout the hospital and when needed transporting this equipment to the Pediatric Specialty Clinic/Shriners Hospital.
