ABOUT OUR NEW CARDIAC CATH LAB SERVICE: Central Peninsula Hospital is looking forward to bringing a new cardiac catherization lab to the community. Construction on the cath lab's 3500-square-foot area built within the hospital's newest building space will be completed in September 2019. The cath lab includes 4 pre/post procedure rooms, waiting areas and office spaces.
This position is eligible for a CRITICAL POSITION BONUS equal to $15,000.00 as well as RELOCATION ASSISTANCE.
POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, provides technical support and assistance to the physician during diagnostic and invasive cardiovascular and interventional radiology procedures. Performs scrub and hemodynamic monitoring duties with cardiac catheterizations, vascular and interventional radiology procedures using clinical knowledge, technical skills, and professional judgment in accordance with professional and departmental standards and protocols. Assists in holding area. Provides care assessment prior, during and post procedural care and instruction to patients. Prepares and maintains all pertinent information related to procedures.
REQUIREMENTS: Graduate from an approved school of radiologic technology; two (2) years in diagnostic and/or interventional cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology lab; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or exam eligible at time of hire (RCIS) or CVT with four (4) years of cath lab experience; BLSP, ACLS, PALS certification; demonstrates clinical competence in basic cardiac physiology/pathology, 12-Lead EKG interpretation; physiologic monitoring (intra cardiac pressure waveform knowledge), pacemaker operations (implantable and external) and other radiographic equipment related to cardiac care. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Four (4) years in combination cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology lab; ARRT with Advanced Level Certification in Cardiac Interventional Radiography; Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.
