Formed in 2009, the SDMS Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization affiliated with the SDMS. The SDMS Foundation fosters professional learning and excellence by working to improve the field of diagnostic medical sonography.
Position Summary: Creates and maintains all scheduling blocks. Receives calls regarding scheduling of pre-surgical and radiology interventional procedures. Documents all patient demographics and appointment information in an efficient and accurate manner. Ensures that all clinical information and related images are obtained prior to scheduling interventional procedure. Schedules and coordinates appointments for Breast Center interventional procedures. Schedules and coordinates hospital breast interventional procedures. Supervises scheduling staff to ensure that all clerical duties are being performed as per department standards. Ensures that imaging reports are being delivered timely. Mentors new employees and assists the supervisor in assessing their competency and performance of their duties. Performs other clerical duties as assigned by the supervisors. Assists Patient Access with Pre-Authorization tasks.
Qualifications: Position Requirements/Qualifications: (including required licensure/certifications, education and job knowledge / experience)
Education Minimum: High School Diploma
Preferred: Formal computer skill training, at vocational level.
Experience: Minimum of two years of Radiology scheduling experience, or related training. Direct data entry in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner as specified by established policies. Computer experience/training required.
Other qualifications: Able to function under stressful circumstances involving physicians and hospital staff. Familiarity with medical terminology. Must be able to communicate professionally with physicians, hospital staff, and outside callers.
